Relationship with LPI
The Linux Professional Institute (LPI) started in April 2007, as a platform to professionalize the open source community. Respecting the Institute’s independent character, the role of Qindel Group on it implantation around Spain was essential, because the company offered many logistic facilities and an important portfolio of contacts.

The Linux Professional Institute promotes and certifies essential capabilities of Linux and open code technologies through the creation of highly comprehensible exams that are high-quality and independent from any distribution.
Established as a non-profit international entity in September 1999 as a demand from the Linux community, the Linux Professional Institute continues to demonstrate clear leadership in the certification of Linux professionals worldwide. LPI helps to advance the Linux and open source movement through its strategic members, sponsors, innovative programs and community activities. The main financial sponsors of LPI are: Platinum IBM, Linux Journal, Linux Magazine, Novell, SGI, and TurboLinux, as well as Gold HP and IDG.
Since 1999, LPI has carried out more than 230,000 examinations and has awarded 75,000 LPIC certifications worldwide.
