Linux remote desktop. BBVA-Bancomer

BBVA-Bancomer needed to provide their employees with a work desktop at all their offices in Mexico.

Qindel Group proposed open source remote desktops as a solution, with support for Microsoft and Linux clients. The solution is a part of Qindel’s QVD and brings considerable costs reducing in software licenses because it’s based on open technology. The most important advantages are:

Commercial offices monitoring. BBVA-Bancomer

Qindel Group installed a monitoring and alarm platform in BBVA-Bancomer for 2,000 offices in Mexico based on open source and in high availability for eventuality cases.

The tool allowed monitoring all the commercial branches, corporate software, capacity planning and performance analysis.

Virtual world Wonderland. BBVA

Sun Microsystems Ibérica wanted to implement a proof of concept of their virtual world platform Wonderland for its client BBVA.

The aim was to represent the innovation and to allow employees access to that environment from everywhere. Wonderland project is an open code platform to create 3D collaborative worlds. In this environment users can communicate each other through audio and multimedia media, applications and documents.

Organic computing and telecommunications infrastructure. Local government of Navalcarnero

Navalcarnero is a local government in the region of Madrid that was in a fast growing process with deficient and obsolete resources. They needed to grow in capacity and quality, following the population growth experienced in the last years.

The company bet on setting up a new building and a library. Therefore, Qindel Group proposed a solution based on:

Virtual desktop for financial entity ‘Caja Nuestra Gente’ (Peru). BBVA Foundation

The client wanted the availability of different fundamental applications: financial terminal, risk and client procedures. Also they needed to cover pin-pad identification, communications with other nets, the use of ticketing devices, network printers and other elements. The client had specific needs because of satellite links and the communication between the offices and the database in Spain.

Qindel proposed a model that covers all their needs based on QVD. With this architecture they managed to cover all the client’s requirements, with QVD’s benefits: reducing general cost and optimizing bandwidth.

Emoción platform support. Telefónica-Movistar

Qindel Group currently provides administration services of the preproduction setting of the Unipier Portal Manager platform, which Telefónica Móviles in Spain uses as a support for Emoción portal services.

Mail service. University of A Coruña (Spain)

Migration of a former mailing platform based on IMAP and Postfix into an alternative solution.

A consumer consultancy was carried on, as well as an evaluation of several alternatives and finally a Galician version of Zimbra was chosen. The corporative directory was re-designed and migrated, also a new platform based on virtual machines (VMware) and disks (SAN) were designed to display a free platform of unique points of failure. Besides, tools of monitoring were established and the administration team was also implanted.

Today, Qindel Group is in charge of the support of this service and supports University requirements.

Voicemail based on SIP

Voice mail proposal to Vodafone, based on SIP technologies. The idea was based on offering a reliable voice mail service at a competitive price.

The solution uses general purpose hardware, based on open software, designed with high availability and disaster recovery. Its architecture has been designed in layers and blocs that can work in an independent way.
The solution offers an excellent spending/performance ratio and a high quality service.

Filter of unwanted contents in mobile phone platforms. Vodafone Spain

The company needed to quantify the risk and to measure the problems of virus of their clients and on its network. Several commercial solutions were searched, but they only solved partially the problem and they were expensive.

Qindel Group proposed an innovative solution offering advanced protection measures of virus and threatens that fulfill the high performance requirements so it could continue to guarantee the quality of service. An easy and scalable solution.

Nowadays, Qindel Group is in charge of the support of these services and is still responsible for the development of new functions.

Vodafone ADSL. Vodafone Spain

For the correct selling of the ADSL products by Vodafone Spain, it was essential that the provision systems of Vodafone and Tele2 were integrated. However, to get that purpose, there were two huge problems, a great economic expense and a higher spending of time.

On one hand, the time to market was critical for the commercial launching of this service, with the goal to take advantage of its growth potential experienced at that moment in Spain, as well as for the launching of innovative products that combine landline and mobile services in the same terminal.

Vodafone ADSL

Qindel Group proposed a solution to meet the schedule of the commercial launching. A non invasive solution: minimum changes in the provision systems of both enterprises and the use of standard interfaces, at a dramatically lower cost.

‘Vodafone at home’. Vodafone Spain

It was based on a landline-mobile convergence product. A new added value service based on phone calls geolocation. The solution was complex due to the high number of systems and process included, as well as specific technical requirements. There were no adapted commercial solutions.

Qindel Group proposed a solution to solve the 100% of customers’ requirements. An architecture easily reached based on in-house components and own developments with the consequent reduction of time and costs. A flexible solution that can also be applied to other company products.

Today, in its reuse, Qindel Group is in charge of the support of those services and it is still responsible for the development of new functions.

Mashup based on Google Maps. Vodafone Spain

Vodafone Spain had the necessity to visually present the data associated to the “Vodafone at home” service with the goal of making the proceedings of incidents resolution of Clients Management easier and faster.

The solution proposed by Qindel Group combines high volume of information from different systems, allowing its geographic representation and management. It helps and advices the choice of the best set up service for every subscriber and it reduces costs regarding the GIS applications.
